I have 3 months to research and identify options for a celebratory family dinner for 6 adults, one of whom is a vegan. Given the fact that this is a 70th birthday dinner and we're staying in Healdsburg, I don't think the others want to drive very far. However, I'll consider suggestions for restaurants that are within a 10-15 minute drive. So far, I've focused on restaurants in Healdsburg. We also may do a group lunch the next day, too.
The birthday boy prefers steak, ribs, and any other hearty red meat (which complicates matters since his wife is the vegan). In my preliminary research, I found these restaurants which all appeal to me (the omnivore):
Valette (doesn't seem vegan-friendly, only offering salad and sides of veggies on menu, dinner only)
Barndive (doesn't seem vegan-friendly, only salad and a side of potatoes on the menu)
Dry Creek Kitchen (has a roasted beet napoleon as an entree, dinner only)
Bravas (which has some vegan-friendly options)
Chalkboard (which has some vegan-friendly options)
I don't know Healdsburg very well, having only eaten at Willi's Seafood Bar on a trip last year (planned by others so I went along).
I looked at Scopa but may want to avoid Italian as our vegan is sick of mushroom pastas (we just did a family trip to DC recently and there aren't many vegan options there).
Am I missing anything else? Budget isn't an issue, especially if it's somewhere that can easily accommodate our party's food restrictions/preferences.
Thanks in advance for any help in identifying some good prospects.
