SPARK wood fire pizza. Yeah it's good enough for 2 days in a row.

I’m from Connecticut. We have pizza good enough to eat five days a week. It’s Portuguese meets Sicilian meets Greek. New Haven should be the Mecca for pizza lovers not Chicago, not New York, not Rome—I’ve got J. Gold on my side, Calvin Trillin, and numerous American presidents but having lived in L.A. for 7 years I’ve given up. I given up looking for what I miss and taken to seeking pizza that’s just GOOD! Pizza that does it’s own thing, like Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock.
Last night my girlfriend and I tried a SPARK woodfire Roman pizza--she’s from Long Island for whatever that matters. When you order a Roman pizza from SPARK that means a 12’ thin crust pie, and it was very very nice. Too bad that it was hardly enough for 2 to share and came to about 11 bucks. The crust was very very thin. I mean it was tissue paper thin. BUT we loved it.

Today I hadn’t felt had enough so we went back for lunch and ordered a thicker Neapolitan Pizza--They only offer the two styles. The Neapolitan was more than enough but not as delicate, not as tasty as the Roman which we loved. SPARK is no place like home but the pizza is NICE!

Ignore the TV execs from nearby CBS Radford studios or take them along. SPARK, 11801 Ventura Blvd. 818-623-8883 and I hear Zagaty somewhere in Huntington Beach.
