I stopped in at the tiny, brand-new Soycafe on Hyperion today -- strangely enough, it's a similar operation to KP's Vietnamese Deli right down the street. Viet, the owner, makes fresh soy milk, pennywort juice (?) and fresh bean curd. He'll be making sausage, sardine, turkey and mushroom bahn mi ($5) as soon as he finds a baguette he likes. His bean curd was still cooking so I didn't get to try it, I just had some iced coffee with some very strongly-flavored soy milk. He said he might start serving pho in the evenings, but for now he's only open 9-2 on weekdays.
I didn't get the phone number, but it's right next to Cuffs Bar, which is at 1941 Hyperion.
