Went to Sovalo for the first time last night. After all of the positive postings on this board (and Laban's glowing review in today's Inquirer), I don't need to tell you how good the food is. (Well, I will say that my polenta over fonduta with arugula appetizer was out of this world.) The service was excellent as well. We had a reasonably priced sangiovese ($24) which we both liked very much. Bill for two (two apps, two entrees and the wine) was $86. The reason I'm writing, however, is to say how lovely the chef's wife and co-owner is. Even before going, it bothered me that a couple of posters here had comments like "what's with her?" because they apparently thought she talked to them too long. At the time, I thought these comments were unnecessarily nasty. Last night, I engaged her in a (short) conversation, and what she had to say was quite interesting and friendly. She's a lovely woman, and I think she is a definite asset at the front of the house.
