South Pittsburg, Lynchburg and Chattanooga leg of our trip

Chuck | Sep 21, 200509:48 PM

Well, we sadly left the Transvestite Conference at our hotel (Sheraton Midtown Colony..Excellent place to stay...seriously) and headed for Chattanooga.

What a fantastic city! We had an incredible lunch at Tony's Pasta...Grilled Italian roast beef (made exactly as they do in Chicago)panini and a chicken pannini. Homemade pesto and red peppers, provolone cheese on both and truly legitimate Italian breads baked right next door. Absolutely terrific.

Great artisan bakery next door...all owned by a physican in a really beautiful setting. If you have never been to this city...consider it. I'm ready to move there! Only problem is I cannot understand the people. What Southern accents! Seriosuly, it's a beautiful little city.

Then we went to Pittsburg, TN to the Lodge Factory store. Thanks Michael B. The deals are in the back of the store...their factory seconds. Up front are no bargins. Got a nice skillet and somme of those corn bread molds.

Then on to Lynchburg to the Jack Daniels plant. Long ride off I-24, but a great tour. We really enjoyed it. Was very hot in some of the areas we went to see, so if you can go in the Fall, it will be more enjoyable.

Now in Nashville and await meals at Mambu, Zola, Cafe Margot and Germantown Cafe with Ms. Foo Foo Food. On my own, I'm getting to some Steve Drucker's recommendations two years ago like Roiter's, Ellison Soda and Pancake Pantry. And a return to the Greek gyro shoppe in the arcade, which I loved two years ago. Will report soon.

Thanks to all who helped up to this point.
