My favorite dessert of all time is the sour cream apple pie served at the Pink Rose dessert shop in South Philly. We are going apple picking today and I plan to make a bunch of sour cream apple pies to give to friends and family. Here are my questions:
1. I was going to use the Silver Palate recipe as I don't have the one from the Pink Rose. Does anyone have another sour cream apple pie recipe they would recommend?
2. I wanted to freeze a few of them. Would this work, given that sour cream is one of the ingredients?
3. Assuming I can freeze the pies, what is the best way to wrap them before I put them in the freezer? I was thinking several layers of Saran Wrap would do the trick.
