Dinner last night at Sorrelina-beautiful room, really confortable chairs and the bench seating has pillows available for those of us with short legs! Great service, knowlegible staff and really nice food. The mushroom soup with a frothy crema on top was just outstanding - I tried not to eat too much of the warm broth as it fills me up quickly but it was hard to resist. Bill had the spicy tuna - imprerssive presentation and fresh, fresh tuna with lots of hot spice. Entree for me was the seared scallops with a celery root "salad" just lovely. Bill had the veal milinaise - 1st misstep of the evening - the breading was heavily "herby" - no real veal flavor survived. An unimpressive pile of greens on theplate. Dessert - Bill had the fresh stuffed cannolis - just perfect my chocolate dessert was dry and they took it off the tab.
The wine list was fine by us - I know what I like and know what the price range should be - maybe a bit higher but the service was attentive and they promptly chilled our 1st bottle on request.
I would definately go back but I am not sure I would rate this one 3 stars just yet as the Globe did.
One caveat - when we went for our coats my scarf was missing and upon pointing this out she immediately went back in the coat room in full view of us and pulled it out of another coat. Since I had secured the scarf in a loop in the neck of my jacket I know that it did not "fall out".
Lesson learned I guess - take an expensive scarf to table.
