Solea

hungry | Dec 17, 2002 09:27 AM

Thank you for all the posts about Solea. I was heading out the door to eat there with a party of 6. I tend to agree with Boston Chowhounds on most things but I disagree with the drab assessment of Solea.

Perhaps our large party had an opportunity to sample more tapas than the average diner. Our service was attentive - refills of water and sangria. The sangria wasn't special - I'll concede that. We outlasted the staff in the dining area leaving at 11:30 but the bar was still active.

Tapas - swordfish skewer, scallops in saffron sauce, baby glazed lamb chops, duck in berry sauce, squid in ink, asparagus flan, venison sausage, avocado-mango crab, pork tenderloin in goat blue cheese sauce were all delicious.

Perhaps it deserves a second look.
