I went to Sofra today for the first time today, and liked what I tried.
Red lentil kofte sandwich was tasty, although I wished it was slightly bigger. For a vegetarian sandwich of that size (about same size as a hockey puck?), $8 is a bit steep. But I really liked the celery root slaw, and the zhoug (cilantro based sauce) that comes with it is good.
Fattoush salad - We ordered this even though they warned us that they were out of pita strips. So we got a pita on the side, which really wasn't the same thing. It was a good salad, but not really fattoush without the pita....still, had nice pomegranate and orange in it, and lots of sumac.
Sour cherry green tea (iced) was probably a highlight for me - again $3 is maybe a bit expensive for a drink, but it was homemade and really good. I love sour cherry.
The cafe was very busy, but we managed to find a seat and enjoy the meal. Two dishes and 1 drink cost us $20, and we didn't leave feeling very full. But it was a very nice light meal, and I'm glad I made it here!
