Ate at SoBe Seafood in Clarendon Saturday night. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. It's in a little courtyard where the Cuban restaurant used to be (La Cantanita, a Havana Cafe?). I had crab cakes with lovely big lumps of crab and no shell, and two unusual sauces (one had avocado in it). Started off with a seafood gazpacho. Chocolate mousse for dessert, which is not that easy to find (they also apparently have great key lime pie, though that isn't my thing). My dining companion found her rockfish fine and its crab imperial topping delicious, not all mayonnaisey. Our waiter, Mark, was thoughtful and helpful.
They have several grilled fish filets you could order, with a choice of 3 sauces. I will definitely remember it the next time I have a seafood craving. Can't believe I didn't know this place was here, and it's been open a year! I wonder why Washingtonian or Sietsema haven't reviewed it? Anyway, definitely a good place to go for seafood. They have a small kids' menu, too, and the manager (Tiffany) said they have live music on Thursdays, in the courtyard, so we'll have to try that.
