Call me ignorant, but I'd never had nata de coco until yesterday!
I stopped in for an afternoon snack at Sno:LA on Beverly, and noticed cubes of what looked like lychee jelly floating in a viscous transluscent sugar syrup. I figured I'd try it, whatever it was.
Delicious! If you like the texture of lychee jellies and a light coconut flavor, you might just love this. And not that it should be a sidenote, but the chocolate/sour cherry swirl at Sno:LA is delicious. I had the fig/date flavor because I thought it would go better with coconut, but I took a bite of the swirl and was impressed by the intensely chocolately flavor and how it contrasted with the tanginess of the sour cherry.
Is there anywhere else that serves nata de coco?
