Snapper Jon's Fish Market and Deli - Woodland Hills - FANTASTIC!

tenom dude | Mar 23, 200605:34 PM

Fish out in Woodland Hills?? YES...most definitely. I don't know if Snapper Jon's has been on the boards before, but it was absolutely a great find for me. Located in a stripmall on the North side of Ventura just East of Woodlake, you would never think about going in there...unless of course you are a chow hound!

The place offers sashimi grade seafood (I wonder if I can have it raw if I bring in my own soyu and wasabi?) that you select and they'll either fry it or grill it for you on the spot, sides are all home made and excellent! 3 of us were there for lunch, we had fried catfish, grilled fish kabobs (swordfish/halibut combo) and Barramundi! When was the last time you guys saw Barramundi on the menu?! Our sides were potato salad, cole slaw and a fresh salad, Jon offered us a side of his best selling cucumber and bayshrimp salad to try...and that was great too!

One thing you'll notice when you walk in is that you don't smell fish!

You know how you get excited when you find a hole-in-the-wall place that you think nobody knows about? Well, maybe someone has already posted it on the boards...but it's still an exciting find for me!

Worth checking out!
