So, I'm eating lots of salmon these days. What are good vendors for smoked salmon ... I don't mean lox.
I'm currently happy with Rick's Quality Meat in El Cerrito, but he's unreliable as to availability. Some weeks he smokes up some salmon, some weeks he doesn't.
I haven't tried any of the Ferry Building vendors yet. Any comments.
After going through my stash of Half Moon Bay smoked fish, I find the new RED RIVER SMOKE HOUSE is better than CREEKSIDE SMOKEHOUSE. The fish is moister, the smoking more flavorful.
Capt'n Mike's Holy Smoke is ok to, maybe not my favorite.
So, no geography limits. I'd appreciate leads for smoked salmon from Sonoma to SJ.
