Walked the one block down to wichcraft since i am feeling in a sandwich mood.

The menu is a little different than what is posted on line and i was very pleased to see that they have a ham and avocado sandwich for breakfast.

I was in the mood for grilled so i ordered the grilled gruyere with carmelized onions on rye and asked them to add a slice of ham.

What i got: excatly that grilled perfectly. The gruyere and onions together are perfect. The salty smoked ham balances out the sweetness of the onions nicely, but sort of drowns the gruyere flavor. This is what happens when I try to change something that is already the recommendation. Next time i will ask them to add tomato instead and see how that works out.

One grilled sandwich and a cookie : $7.04
pretty comparable with whatever else you are going to find at 5th and market that is NOT Carl's Jr.

P.s. the gentleman that bagged my sandwich was courteous enough to tell me that he put two thick napkins between the sandwich and the cookie, cause the sandwich was hot and the cookie cream filling should stay cool so it doesn't melt.
I thought that was very nice of him.
