having a party in a couple of weeks where I will be bartending with this little gem as my signature drink. I don't really have any experience making them and was curious for any input on gin brands (or any other input). Will it even matter? with all the ingredients going into this, do I just pick a strong gin to shine through, or not waste my time and keep it scaled back?
pulled off this recipe from drinkboy.com:
1 1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce Cherry Heering brandy
1/4 ounce Cointreau
1/4 ounce Benedictine
4 ounces pineapple juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/3 ounce grenadine
dash angostura bitters
I'll be practicing this weekend. The pineapple juice seems a little strong.
