Bedok South Hawker Centre (opposite Temasek Junior College)

Teochew style char siew (Cantonese style glazed roast pork) rice is great -- gorgeous dark sauce on the rice, flavoured with all sorts of dark clovey, cinnamony spices. Matched well with a earthy chili sauce spiked with dried shrimp. Good char siew, a bit more on the rustic side, delicious braised penuts, taupok (a spongy tofu), boiled egg.

Food Court near Tampines Street 42, close to Tampinese Junior College (apologies for the scant address details, but that's all I know)

Silky chicken steamed with rice. A lovely comibnation with shiitake mushrooms and baby bak choy.

Takashimaya Food Court, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Orchard Road

Basic tsukune (chicken meatballs) at the yakitori stand.

Good black sesame gelato at Venezia, a gelato stand. Also pleasant is the green tea; caramel seemed sweet but light. Dense thick textured gelato.

House of Sudanese Food, Terminal 2, Changi Airport

Very satisfying Indonesian. A grilled bass glazed with a treacly kechap manis sauce. Tender grilled squid with a lovely hint of spicy heat and sweetness. A deep flavoured goat curry, mellow with a green curry flavours. Delightfully soft eggplant stuffed with a piquant sambal.
