I watched the documentary about four years ago. I think it's amazing, and gives me hope. Yet, at the same time I have to warn that there is needles in this movie.
I'm getting upset just typing the word needle. If your anything like me you'll have to sit/lay down while watching Simply Raw. This is because the idea of needles make me a little light headed and cringe.
If you can get past the beginning 5 minutes, that's where most of the needle scenes are you can learn a few things.
I. Orange juice raises your blood sugar the most
II. Its possible to control diabetes with diet, in this case raw vegan
III. Empathy for diabetics if your a non-diabetic.
Seeing as one of my best friends from childhood has diabetes, I felt obligated to watch this film. I can't imagine living life as a diabetic. My friend is now on dialysis because of kidney failure.
In short, this film is educational, yet pulls no punches. Its very hard to sit through. About as much fun to watch as being stabbed with a hot poker.
