I checked this place out yesterday - it's on Sullivan St. just south of West 3rd in the village. It got a positive blurb in the NY Times Dining section recently.
It's just a little storefront with four seats, and they have some tasty snacks there. The Jamaican patties are freshly made daily in several flavors. (Think Reubens Empanda.) Whereas I don't agree with the reviewer that every Jamaican patty is "superb", the Jerk Chicken patty was easily the best I've had anywhere - crispy, fresh, non-greasy dough, incredibly intensly-flavored filling and spicy heat galore. The chili beef was lackluster - kind of like a flavorless bean-chili dip.
They also carry some cooked platters, but not on Saturdays, apparently. Full line of Jamaican sodas, IRN-BRU, etc. Cheep, too - patty prices top out at $2.
I'm definitely going back to try others and for the jerk chicken.
