Get your own silverware?

Hobbert | Sep 26, 201501:11 PM     19

So, my dad was in town last night and stopped by around dinner time so we (dad and my husband and I) decided to head out to a newish barbecue spot. The food was pretty good last time and I thought Dad would enjoy it. Last time we were there, about 2 weeks ago, it was a counter service place. Last night, we found out they'd just changed over to full service and had done a few upgrades to the seating, etc. Cool. Our waitress comes by and takes our order and all is well. She brings the food and tells us we can pick up our silverware at a table in the corner! Very weird. As I'm thinking about the weirdness of this, Dad (not being one to keep his thoughts to himself) asks her to just bring us silverware. She did and provided good service and we tipped 20%. But what the heck? Has anybody ever encountered this?
