silver seafood

friday night, I took seth's write up with me to silver seafood.

We had a fine meal, starting out with the spiced and salty cuttlefish that both seth and harry v. had recommended. These were amazingly good, best i've had, and we were very excited for the rest of the meal. Everthing else we had was good but not really great and couldn't live up to those cuttlefish. We also had the oyster dish that seth recommended after seeing numerous platters of these brought out to others. The oysters were huge and the black bean, ginger, and cilantro topping were great, I think I like my oysters better raw however. We also had a seafood in xo combination (next time, just scallops, because in contrast to spiced/salted version, the squid were a little overcooked in this dish), pea greens (Excellent, but they're pretty good everywhere), some chinese pickles (described as hot and sour cucumbers - a little oversweet)and a stuffed tofu dish.

Does anyone have other stand out dish recommendations here?

The service was interesting. - we received our food mainly a course at a time at a leisurely pace and had a tough time convincing them to bring us our check.

By the way, the bring two sets of menus to the table, one has chinese and vietnamese text as well- this one of course is far more interesting and you want to make sure you're looking at the right one, as both menus looke the same from the outside. Silver seafood is BYOB
