About nine months ago, there was a thread about silver dragées being used for Indian sweets. There was also mention that the metal was pounded thin between cow intestine (which seems weird to me, considering it's used in Indian cuisine). Anyhow - I have to make some desserts for a vegetarian party, and am now concerned with: 1. The safety of eating gold and silver. And 2. Is this really the way these gold and silver candies are made, or the coating is made. Can use your expertise. Thanks.
