We had guests coming over and dirty dishes, so I stuck a bowl full of baby bottle parts in our oven. Later I got the bowl out and washed the dishes, but didn't realize that one of the silicone nipples had fallen out....which then melted all over the oven when I was cooking dinner that night. The fire alarm went off, and there was toxic smoke everywhere.
The house has since been aired out, but I'm having a really hard time cleaning the oven and the racks. I was able to peel and chip off some of the bigger pieces, but now there is a sticky silicone film over the rest of the oven.
Any ideas? I've tried heating the oven and cleaning it, which got off the thicker stuff, but there seems to be a thin layer over most of the surface.. It's a Wolf, so I don't want to ruin it even more with a heavy duty scouring product.
