How have I missed this place in the past? For the past several years, I'm usually in Stamford once a month on business. My regular chow stops have been Cafe Morelli, Ocean 211, the Indian Place on the corner of Summer and something. Last week I decided to walk downtown from the Sheraton and stumbled onto Siena. It was early and Thursday, so getting a table wasn't a problem. The place was fantastic! I started with a grilled portabello mushroom salad. The focaccia that showed up was fresh and warm. My main course was the orrechiete with sausage. Tastes, portions and presentations were as close to real Italy as I've ever found in the US. Definitely a winner and I'll be back.
