There's probably already a post on this. I'm a fourth year university student and I am beginning to become sick of my diet. I'm mindlessly overeeating too and I think part of the reason why is that the food I consume doesn't have enough flavour, so I just eat more to get the most out of the texture.
I'm always craving some kind of crunchy biscuit and then I open a bag of tea biscuits and eat so much that becomes a meal. I also eat corn flakes (another bland food) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm also craving sugary things more than usual and I usually don't eat much sugar, but right now I'd rather have a cookie or a cinnamon bun for a meal than cook up something nutritious. I'm stuck in a rut and I don't know what has happened to my taste buds.
I've made wonderful salads and stews before but now I'm sick of those, too. I have a bunch of dressings and sauces and chili oils and spices at home but I seem to never use them. I think it's more convenient to open a carton of food and start stuffing it in my mouth than to cook. I have rice and pasta as back-up but I seem to not like those, either.
1. Convenience. Food must not take long to make, have re-useable ingredients (like staple items) and I prefer one-pot dishes.
2. I'm vegetarian.
I need help, ideas, tips, anything to spice up my diet again.
