Shun Serrated 6 inch "Ultimate Utility" Knife: why not sold in Japan?

drrayeye | May 12, 201503:14 PM

Shun offers a rather well regarded ugly duckling utility knife in the "American" Classic, Premier, Kaji, Sora, and Edo lines market, but not in Japan.

Tojiro likewise markets a very similar 6 inch CombiEdge serrated utility for it's Flash line only in the United States.

There seems to be much more interest in serrated utility knives in the United States than Japan. Why?
