The Shrimp Shack

After lurking on this board for a few weeks I found a new place to share: The Shrimp Shack. This new restaurant, owned by and next to Barry's Spot just opened yesterday in the Edgewater neighborhood. I'm a fish chip fan and will travel as far as Hammond, IN to get some good fish. Luckily, I won't have to do that as often because this place is pretty good. According to the menu, everything is fried in canola oil which is a major plus for me and also pretty rare. I tried the "Fish & Chip" which were fried perch (ocean perch?) and I really enjoyed them. They were golden brown, and done just right and really good. The Fish & Chips however were just fish; what I usually know as fish chips. The menu has the usual fish house items as well as grilled salmon which I will try next time.
