shredded brussel sprouts (need ideas)

i am trying to get rid of some veggies in my fridge before I go away...I have one zucchini, a yellow squash and a bunch of brussel sprouts. Usually, I steam the sprouts and then sautee them in some EVOO and S&P. With the squash, I julienne and sautee.
I want to do something with the brussels other than leave them halfed...at Thanksgiving, my dad always makes them shredded in a slaw type of formation with panchetta (not a mayo-y slaw).

question: Can I shred with a blender? (its the only real kitchen tool I have other than knives). Should I steam them first or will the slaw texture be easy to cook as is? I was going to sautee all of the veggies together to get a uniform consistency...any other idea for cooking them? I don't have bacon in my fridge...I've got lemon, capers, balsamic. need to freshen up my recepie!
