Short Visit to Philly - Passyunk, bakeries, cheesesteaks, etc.

Hi ‘hounds,
I am heading to Philly in 2 weeks with my sister and my 10 and 21 year old nephews. The 21 year old will be doing research and the rest of us will be doing the tourist thing. My primary “tourist attraction” anywhere I travel is always food! We are staying in the Passyunk neighborhood, so I am interested in recommendations for good eats in that area. Any and all recommendations are appreciated because our plans are so loose right now!

The only definite stops on our list at this point are Dizengoff and the Reading Terminal Market. I am always on the lookout for good bakeries of any variety (especially interesting breads), and local specialties that I can bring home to my husband. Any bakeries/breads that are not to be missed? I figure that I can find plenty of goodies to bring home at the market, but I’d love to hear any other recommendations!.

Also, my nephew would like a cheesesteak. Where’s the best place to take him?

Thanks!

Reading Terminal Market,
Dizengoff
