Shirin Cafe in Manalapan a real find

My wife and I have been to this Uzbekistan/Russian restaurant located on Route 9 south many times. The food is really good and different from most restaurants. Start with the Rendezvous salad, good for sharing with another couple. Mastava is my favorite soup although my wife prefers either Shurpa, a simple vegetable soup with lamb or the Borsch, served hot with meat. Add some home made Uzbek bread and you could make a meal out of just that. There are many well=prepared entrees to choose from although my favorites are the lamb shish kebab or the Lyulya shish kabob. Add an order of the addictive sliced potatoes and you have a great meal. Even the desserts were tasty. A meal like this with a beverage, tip, and taxes will run about $30-$40 per person depending on the entree you order.
