Anyone traveling to Sheridan, WY, should try these places:
Empire Grill, Alger street Opened 2/03--great food and friendly, helpful service my favorite for lunch or dinner. Fabulous dinner specials and wonderful desserts. Expensive, but worth it.
Olivers bar & grill, main street lovely, sophisticated place, good, creative food mostly; but you have to beg for bread, salt & pepper (can you believe this?!), and snooty service lots of times. Expensive and overrated.
Wyoming rib & chop house located in the great historic Sheridan inn (built in 1893doesnt function as an inn any more). Built by Buffalo Bill Cody. Great food (WONDERFUL fried shrimp & ribs, etc.), and service, but nothing fancy. Beautiful bar made and shipped from England. No reservations except for large parties. Lunch & Dinner served.
Los Agaves Best Mexican restaurant in town. Dont bother trying the others.
Downtown diner open 11 2 p. only for lunch. good home-style cooking & low prices. Get there early and order the special. great pies, but they sell out quick.
Mint Bar historic (1906), friendly cowboy (REAL cowboys are here!) bar at 115 main street. Wonderful bar made and shipped from England. Reputed to have the coolest neon sign anywhere-cowboy on bucking bronc. Interior is lined entirely in cedar and gnarled pine burls, with rough-hewn log booths and shingle walls that gleam like slick leather and bear hundreds of ranch brands. Lots of historic wall decorations. You have to experience this place at least once.
Java Moon fantastic coffee house on main street. Great coffee drinks, breakfast quiche/breads and light lunches (salads, GREAT pizza, etc.), and ice cream. Adjacent & attached (same owners) is Over the Moon, a fantastic (and expensive) womens clothing/accessory shop.
