making my yearly blackforest cake. I usually make the genoise from Joy of Cooking, it makes a 9" round that you cut in three layers.
I have a larger group coming and wanted to make a sheet cake instead. my cake pan is 9x13. I was planning to do 2x the recipe.
Questions: will recipe yield enough? can I double the recipe or do I have to do it twice? I only have one cake pan. ideally, I would double the recipe, cook 2/3 then 1/3 so I can have my three layers. Is this going to work?
