Shedding more light on adulterated olive oil flowing through Europe, and reforming practices in Italy

Since people on this board are interested in olive oil purity issues, and also the economic position of olive oil producers in Italy, I thought I would post here a couple of links worth reading that touch on these issues. It is an EU-wide problem but the so-called periphery countries like Italy, which still maintain a very strong tradition in protecting agricultural products and quality, can find itself under particular stress and without a strong defense
