Has anyone tried them?
Just had lunch, but the BBQ smell caught my attention as I was driving by, so I turned around to check it out.
There was a black metal mobile open pit bbq pit with cords of wood piled in front. It was pumping out the most delicious aroma. People were milling about, some waiting for their order at a picnic table in front of the truck.
It seems they mainly do fairs, events and catering. However, every other Saturday, the truck is parked just across the street from Safeway in Rodeo. When I talked to them last Saturday they also said it was MAYBE every other week. So I wouldnt recommend anyone seeking them out unless you happen to live in the immediate area. It might be a nice pit stop (heh, heh), if you happen to be doing your Saturday grocery shopping at that Safeway.
The menu included the BBQ standards:
BBQ baked beans
Sweet Potato Pie
From the menu
Shaws takes pride in the true tradition of Texas style Barbequing. We use the same cooking style and ingredients that were handed down from my mother and father."
Anyone come across them at a fair or event? While I probably wont be in the area for a while, I was wondering if they are worth a stop sometime in the future.
