Sharpening a Global knife

I have a 5" Global chef's knife w/ the fluted edge. My husband thinks he remembers reading in the accompanying literature that the edge was uneven...like 60/40 or something. He is uncertain about sharpening the knife. I've looked on the Global website and it doesn't mention this.

Anyone have an idea if there's something special he needs to do when he sharpens? Thank you.
