Like many Chowhounds, I carry several extra pounds. Also like many Chowhounds, I spend far too much time thinking about my next meal, the weekend's meals, my next snack, etc. And for a rather short woman I have a rather large appetite. Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc., are impractical for people like me who want every meal to be tasty and they just tend to make me obsess more and then lose interest.
Today I came across the Shangri-La Diet -- basically, you consume a few tablespoons of olive oil in between meals, and magically have a much smaller appetite.
I also stumbled on the No S Diet -- no snacks, no sugar and no seconds, except a few treats on Saturdays and Sundays.
The simplicity of both, and the non-deprivation aspect of both appeal to me...anyone tried them for any length of time?
