ok. A friend of mine is vegetarian, I'm sick of going to chinese vegatarian restaurants with him and getting gross mock-meat. Pretty much the only mock meat I like is the shanghainese kind made with bean curd sheets stuffed with shitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots and the like inside. Where I live I don't know a good version of these in restaurants, so I want to make them for him to show him how great these things are as compared to the greasy canned gross things he's used to. I seek to enlighten!
So, does anyone actually make these things at home? It seems as though they shouldn't be that hard to make.
