Hi there --
I'm in town from the Bay Area for a conference. I checked into my hotel this evening, then wandered out looking for a late-ish dinner. To my disappointment, the only things I saw nearby were big, generic chains -- P.F. Chang's and the like. I really wanted dinner before it got too late, so I tried Rock Bottom Brewery, mostly because I'd never heard of it. Alas, it turned out to be a chain too.
After dinner -- a satisfactory if unremarkable fish and chips -- I walked around a little bit and saw an Armenian restaurant that looked interesting, at least.
I don't know Chicago at all, but I'm here till Tuesday and would really like to eat some tasty things. I'm staying at the Marriott at Grant and N. Mich. Ave. Suggestions that aren't too difficult to find/get to would be appreciated. I'd be most interested in less-expensive things, but might splurge somewhere if there's a can't-miss place.
Thanks, Chicago 'hounds!
