Sesame in Somerville

Jenn | Jan 23, 2005 05:46 PM

In the middle of the start of the storm, my sweetie and I had a great experience at Sesame on Broadway near Somerville's Teele Sq. (where Yum Yum used to be). Usually we get take out, but took shelter from the storm. It is clean and unpretentious and the service is attentive. The owner is the daughter of the owner of Wang's, also on Broadway, but more towards Winter Hill. The menus have some overlap, but Sesame branches out more from traditional Chinese food, with a separate Japanese menu and a few items from other influences as well.

This time, we had their hot and sour soup, some interesting and yummy tofu "dumplings" (chineese vegetables shredded and sauted and then served in little boxes made out of fried tofu), a wonderful bok choy and mushroom, and their authetic Pad Thai (comfort food for me).

They are running a 10% off thing for a month or so. I worry that maybe they aren't getting enough business, which would be sad, since they are our favorite in Somerville. Check it out sometime.

Jenn
