Tonight was probably our 4th visit to Gulfstream since they opened (we attend a lot of screenings in the theater there) and the food, while pricey has always been good and the service has always been excellent.

While I find their menu small, there's always something I want to try. They generally have 4 fresh fishes in addition to their regular menu fishes of snapper and salmon.

Our server, who remembered us from the last time we were there recited the fresh catches and my husband decided to try the uno (sp?). While we were eating, I overheard another wait person mention fresh trout to another table. I asked my husband if our server mentioned fresh trout and he said no. The reason I mentioned this was because my husband likes trout and I knew that if it was mentioned, he would have ordered it.

My husband didn't really care for his fish but he ate about half of it and both of the sides. When we saw our waiter we asked him if there was indeed fresh trout and he said yes and admitted he neglected to mention it. My husband said he was disappointed about that because he loves trout. We weren't trying to make a federal case about it, we just mentioned that we were disappointed we hadn't had the opportunity to try it. He offered to get my husband an order of the trout but by that point we had to get going and my husband wasn't hungry enough to eat an entire meal but we appreciated his offer. About five minutes later the manager came over extending the same offer to which we politely declined. He then offered to comp us the uno and gave us his card so we could call back to see when they had fresh trout.

I was really impressed with their willingness to try to make us happy even though we had barely complained and didn't ask for anything as recompense.

As for the food, I do like it but I have found with consistency they are VERY heavy with the dishes that come with sauces and things tend to be pretty salty
