last night..what a wonderful dining/drinking experience.
9 people(a few fairly reluntant to try new things), 18 thumbs up. I'm getting emails today when are we going to do this again?
4 food/wine courses:
1. crabmeat in a rich cream sauce in a puff pastry sitting on a bed of grilled corn. w/ roussette wine.
2.halibut cheeks with slivers of pigs knuckles topped with grilled onions on bed of large white kidney type beans.the thought of pig's knuckles had some ready to back out but everyone enjoyed this dish, w/chardonnay.
3.stuffed boneless breast of capon with potatoes and mushrooms. this was good but probably the least interesting course, paired with a a delicious burgundy.
4.final course was a 3 cheese course with sliced fruit, paired with a red bordeax.
the beverage manager(Erik) came around each table to describe in depth each wine while we were enjoying it and after the meal the chef(Geoff) made the rounds.
this is a weekly Wednesday event with different wines and foods $35 prix fixe.
