I voraciously read the recent thread on Saturday night dinners for 12 since I am tasked with finding a good Montreal restaurant for up to 15 guests this July. Unfortunately all the restaurants suggested in this thread are a little too expensive and meat-centric. I had thought a place such as Au Pied de Cochon (they do have a good fish dish and some vegetarian options!) might be in the right price range, but my guests thought the prices a little too high for their liking (And yes, I know the reservation limit is 10; we were going to split into 2 parties...).
This is not a rowdy group (they're librarians!), but from all over the world in town for a conference, so I want to give them a good culinary experience at a reasonable cost. There are at least 2 vegetarians (who eat fish, I believe) in the group. Can anyone suggest a good restaurant that is
(1) reasonably priced,
(2) large enough to handle a party of 15 (but willing to split into 2 neighbouring tables if necessary),
and (3) vegetarian-friendly?
Thanks for your suggestions!
