I'm partial to The Bean Ladies brand of soup mixes - which I can find occasionally at Lady York Foods, an Italian grocery on Dufferin St. But not on my last few visits, so I fear the worst. I'd be much obliged if someone could tip me off to where else in Toronto I could pick them up. I suspect the company has a somewhat raggedy-ass distribution in smallish markets and grocers. Their products pop up occasionally at fairs and craft shows around Ontario, but much as I like their soups - just add water, some veggies and cook stove-top for an hour or so, making for multiple delicious servings - I'm not about to chase out of town for them. I particularly like their lentil soup mix, which beats the hell out of any lentil soup at any Middle East resto I've been to around town (including Tabule). But the split pea mix is also pretty good. No response yet from The Bean Ladies website as to where I might track their products down. So I'm thrown upon the good graces, wisdom and knowledge of the Chowhound community. Where, o where, might a gentleman find those elusive soup mixes?
