Seeking Bacalao/SaltCod (Again)

For years I have been going to Spain and returning with bacalao (salt cod), which I cannot find here in Los Angeles. Allow me to elaborate. Salt cod is available in LA in thin, extremely dry planks filled with bones, often in Mexican markets. Or it's that poor imitation in a box, or it's frozen or canned or shredded. In Europe I get cuts called solomillo or lomo (literally loin, though fish don't really have loins) which are "steaks" 1 1/2-2" thick , boneless and salted but not overly dry, and expensive for such a simple commodity. The first time I brought them back (in vacuum sealed bags) I naively checked the customs form to show I had "food" and was pulled aside at LAX. When the agent discovered what my "food" was she admonished me "don't ever bother us with this again". Does anyone know where I might find bacalao, solomillo or lomo, in LA? The previous Chowhound posts on this are no help, I'm afraid, nor is Yelp. Gracias!
