It's the Season for Figs!

Recently had some delicious figs from a farmer's market in Los Angeles; we ate them fresh--served them with gorganzola--just cut the fig in half, popped on a bit of the cheese and chowed down; it was a very fine appetizer.

Since the season for fresh figs is relatively short, I'd like to take advantage of them while they're here. What are your favorite recipes for/ways to eat fresh figs? TIA!
