Sea Pal Cove in Fort Bragg [Mendocino County]

Melanie Wong | Jul 14, 201306:07 PM

Hearing that Sea Pal Cove serves salmon fish and chips during the local season, I sought it out on Thursday. A little hard to find in Noyo Harbor, as the restaurant is set back from the street. But the banner for cold beer caught my eye and I spotted the place.

Alas, when I went inside to order, I was told that they were sold out of salmon and wouldn’t have more until the next day. A bit hard to believe when I pointed out the newly landed salmon being cleaned right then and there on its own dock. The counter guy revised his estimate and said that there was a good chance that the salmon fish and chips would be available again by dinner time.

I didn’t have time to circle back in the evening. But I’m still thinking about salmon and chips and wonder if any ‘hounds have tried this here.
