The owners of Seattle restaurant Kona Kitchen will be interviewed on a cable-access TV show tonight (Fri 1/17) at 7:30 - 8 pm. The program is called "Hawai'i Showcase Television Magazine," and it's on Ch. 77/29 in the Seattle area (depending upon your cable system.)
The owners (Yuji & Angie Okumoto) are from Hawai'i, and Yuji portrayed a baddie in the 2nd "Karate Kid" movie (he's appeared in more than a dozen films.)
(In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I will also be on the program tonight, talking about Hawaiian music. One of the host/producers is my kumu hula, but I receive no compensation for my occasional appearances on the show, nor do I have any financial stake in the program, nor in the restaurant.)
The weekly show covers all aspects of Hawaiian life and culture, from hula to crafts, and sometimes food. It's public access, so if you tune in, keep in mind that it's an all-volunteer operation.
