[SEA] Guaymas on 1st--yes, Virginia, there is takeout after 7 in downtown Seattle

I've been looking for some decent evening takeout near the Market, and I've found at least one place that fits the bill. I'm primarily looking for cheap tasty food that I can grab at a moment's notice on the way to the bus, particularly on nights when I've worked late.

This morning I noticed that there's a Guaymas just off of 1st Avenue near University, in an interesting little nook on the south side of the Harbor Steps residential tower--same block as the Lusty Lady. I worked later than I intended to and missed the 8:00 bus, which left me with half an hour to kill.

Ten minutes later I was the happy if temporary owner of three tacos--chorizo, al pastor, and pollo en salsa verde. I decided to put them in my backpack and take them home for consumption, which turned out to be a trifle unwise, as the grease from the chorizo soaked through the paper bag and caused a bit of a mess. Next time I'll come armed with a plastic bag to stuff them in.

Nonetheless, they were a great late dinner when I finally got home, and I avoided having to stop off in the Junction for dinner and then wait for another bus.

The food was the same as I've had in other Guaymas' around town, no big surprise there. They apparently have a happy hour with two tacos for $2, as well.
