The old place on 5th Ave.(which was ALWAYS packed at lunchtime) was torn down a couple years ago, but they finally reopened in a new location (2211 4th Ave., between Bell & Blanchard) about five weeks ago.
The food is as wonderful as ever - I think they do the best hot+sour soup in town, plus I've not found Mongolian Chicken anywhere else. My sweetie was particularly impressed with the freshness of ingredients in her Seafood Combination, especially the squid and scallops. The kitchen has more space than before, but the seating area is smaller, which I hear leads to some real slowdowns at lunchtime. (open Mon-Sat, 11am-9pm)
But we had no problems at dinnertime on Saturday, and the seating area is MUCH nicer than the original space, with a greatly improved decor. The owner is a charmer, and tells me that a lot of former customers have been rediscovering the place since they reopened. (Her daughter and daughter's fiancee were the servers that night - all wonderful folks.)
But the bottom line is the food --- Belltown has a lot of great eateries, but you don't want to miss this one (and don't confuse it with another new Chinese place on 5th, which I have not tried.) Reasonably priced, comfortable atmosphere, great people, and marvelous food.
