finally got to check this place out yesterday. went only for steak...they had some other options on the menu, but it was rather thin with choices. fine, i'm not concerned about them.
wasn't *too* hungry, so i passed on the porterhouse (28 oz - $40) and got the filet mignon (12 oz, $27). salad (not very good) and potatoes (i got the mashed potatoes; skin, garlic and herbs were in there, potatoes were quite tasty) also came with the meal.
steak was quite tasty. i asked for it reddish-pink in the center, and that's how it came. easy to cut, easy to chew. they say it's aged a minimum of 28 days....my only mild complaint was a lack of major seasoning in the cooking process.
my final decision: it's nowhere near as good as the luger/del frisco i love in nyc. it's a little below ruth's chris (which i consider quite good). it's far better than the other places i've been in the hudson valley, and as a point of reference, i'm not a big fan of outback's steaks (though i do eat their chicken when i go, but that's another point entirely).
and...there's a rita's water ice about 2 miles away from there!
