Scacha's in Mt. Vernon

Hubby and I dined on Saturday night at Scacha's- he had never been and we wanted to go someplace 'different'. It really wasn't what we expected, in a negative way...
We arrived to find the dining room filled with guests and good smells. It is decorated beautifully and we were seated without delay.
We ordered: 2 different bottles of wine over the course of the evening, 'garlic plate' appetizer (consisted of goat cheese, head of roasted garlic, and roasted peppers and tomato), Scacha's salad- hubby had Ceasar, then I had braised short ribs and hubby had new york strip steak special. The appetizer was the best part of the meal, but certainly nothing that couldn't be put together at home. My salad was pre-packaged lettuce with croutons from a box- hubby made no comment on his, but didn't finish it. My ribs came and looked delicious, but just didn't live up to my expectations- the meat was not as tender as I thought and there was lots of fat and grizzle on it. The mashed potato was fantastic. Hubby said his steak wasn't anything to write home about.
We had super-high expectations upon arrival, which is probably why it didn't quite do it for us. The service was fantastic and I can't really complain about anything in specific- it just felt like someone in the kitchen doesn't 'care' about the food.
I do not think will will return.
